An Important Mission
Many fishermen and marine guides on the island rely on freediving to work and make a living. However, many are self-taught and lack basic safety training or an understanding of the associated risks, leading to issues like barotrauma (pressure related injuries) , hearing loss, and near-drowning incidents.
Proper freediving training is often unaffordable for locals, making safe freediving an inaccessible skill. For locals, this training is not just a sport, it’s a necessity for job opportunities and ensuring their safety in the water.

Compensation for the Educational Team
Teaching, developing, and delivering freediving courses requires significant time and dedication.
The simplified AIDA 2 program alone has taken over 500 hours and the contributions of seven people to summarize, refine, proofread, and translate, making the educational content more accessible to locals.
Additionally, teaching local guides and fishermen requires extra effort due to language barriers, varying educational backgrounds, and the need for tailored instruction to ensure effective learning.

Covering materials, equipment and certification fees
Providing proper freediving education comes with significant costs. We cover expenses for printing high-quality learning materials, supplying essential freediving equipment for students, and covering AIDA certification fees for those unable to afford them.
These resources ensure that local freedivers receive the training, skills, and recognized certifications needed to improve their safety and livelihood opportunities.

Your Help Goes Further
Our goal is not just to educate but make a lasting change. By equipping local freedivers with advanced skills and certifications, we enhance their livelihoods, sustainability, and safety.
By making these resources globally accessible, we may help other communities replicate this cooperative model, multiplying the impact of your support.
